HUNGER MISSIONS

Food Drive

We are holding a food drive for Backpack Ministry to attempt to offset some of the costs associated with this program.  Our costs keep going up and the need also is increasing each year.  Please help us help those kiddos that need a little extra help!

Backpack Ministry

Our backpack ministry provides food for children who participate in the school lunch program during the week and may not have enough to eat on the weekend.  We administer this ministry through the counselors with Tomball Elementary, Decker Prairie Elementary, & Rosehill Elementary so that students/families confidentiality is maintained.  We send home enough food for a family of four to have two meals each weekend.

If you are interested in being a part of this program please click on the button to send information to the coordinator of this program.

Manna Bags

Manna bags are knapsacks filled with food, water, toiletries, and scriptural guidance to be given out to the homeless in our community.  The manna bags are assembled by the Saints Alive Sunday School class on an “as needed” basis.  Please contact the church office if you have any questions regarding this ministry area.

Please feel free to take a bag and put in your car for the next time you want to witness to the homeless in our community.  Filled manna bags are kept in the Library in the sanctuary building.

T.E.A.M.

Tomball Emergency Assistance Ministries (TEAM) is an emergency assistance ministry for residents of the Tomball and surrounding communities.  TEAM provides short-term assistance with food, clothing, shelter, rent and utilities, as well as medical, dental and prescription needs. TEAM operates a resale shopfood pantry, and an assistance ministry.

Tomball Methodist Church serves as one of the founding churches for this organization and continues to financial and physically support this ministry for the people of Tomball.

Tomball Community Garden

Volunteer

The garden is located on our 20 acres just to the east of our campus buildings and provides fresh produce to TEAM through the hard work of volunteers from the community.

Groups are welcome!  Children are welcome as long as they are closely supervised by a parent. No experience necessary to volunteer.  Gardening days and hours are listed below.

Gently Used Garden Tools Donation

Donate your gently used garden tools to the Tomball Community Garden!  The tools will be used to grow produce that will be donated to Tomball Emergency Assistance Ministries to support those in our community in need of assistance.

Garden spades and trowels, shovels, snippers, etc. would all be appreciated!

Donations can be brought to the garden during work hours (see days and times below).

Pine Needle Donations

Donate your raked and bagged pine needles to The Tomball Community Garden. Bring the bagged pine needles to the area behind the fenced garden.  Donations can be dropped off anytime.

We work on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 am until 9:30 am in the summer and 9:00 am until 10:00 am in the winter.  If you have questions or need more information, please contact Dale Reid at [email protected].
