Financial Assistance: Penny Appeal USA invites those economically affected by COVID-19 to apply for their COVID19 Financial Hardship Grant. Successful applicants will be awarded a grant for use towards food, bills and any uncovered living expenses as a result of quarantine and/or work and school closures.

Unemployment Benefits: Gov. Greg Abbott decided to waive waiting periods and work-search requirements for Texans who lose their jobs because of the coronavirus** If your employment has been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19), apply for benefits either online at any time using Unemployment Benefits Services or by calling TWC’s Tele-Center at 800-939-6631 from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Central Time Monday through Friday.
TWC is experiencing an increase in call volumes and hold times on our Tele-Center phone lines. You are encouraged to use our online claim portal, Unemployment Benefits Services (UBS), to handle your claim needs quickly. UBS is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We also encourage you to sign up for Electronic Correspondence so you can receive your TWC communications online as soon as possible.
TWC will investigate why you lost your job and mail a decision explaining whether you are eligible for unemployment benefits.
Note: Extended Benefits (EB) and Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) are not available at this time.”
Food for Seniors & Children:
Gallery Furniture has free food for seniors and children at Gallery Furniture North Freeway, 7AM-8PM CST daily. Grab and go meals: breakfast with a juice, lunch with a milk, must be a child or senior in car, one meal per person in car.

Tomball ISD will continue to offer a free curbside meal service for all TISD students from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24 or Wednesday, March 25 at Tomball High School’s front entrance.
To limit exposure risk, we will provide meals for the week and families are asked to come one of the two days for their meals.
Please make sure and provide your student’s ID# upon pick-up. If you do not know your student’s ID#, we will assist you.
